    Hi. I’m wanting to do a motion sim for a while. What motors would you guys recommend. I’m from the uk and these crab motors work out expensive with shipping. I’ve seen some golf trolley motors. Not much spec but they are 12v 200w motors. Do you think these be ok for a 2 or 3 dof sim.

    What motors are required depends a great deal on exactly what you want to build, and the rigs design.

    For a simple 2DOF there are tools like SimCalc that can help you get your head around the tradeoffs between design Vs physics: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...e-linear-speed-and-forces-of-your-design.270/

    Probably the cheapest local option would be 24v secondhand wheelchair motors, many members have used them, so search through existing projects to find examples.
