Unlike most games, rFactor requires a profile for each individual class of vehicles if you want optimal motion. No one has time to make all of these profiles, so I have been working on devising a way to calculate profile values quickly utilizing rFactors Artificial Intelligence driver.

This is a work in progress set of calculations intended to compensate for the innacurate numbers generated by recording rFactors AI driver. This is also a work in progress profile template. I am very interested in receiving feedback on this calculator and seeing any profiles that you create with it!!

    Here's how it works.

1.)Load the SimXperience rFactor Profile Template
    SimXperience rFactor Profile Template.rn2

This template is already configured to auto-record minumum and maximum profile values which will save you alot of time.

    2.)Configure rFactor For AI Driving
If you dont already have one mapped, map a key or button to rFactors AI Driver option in the controller settings. (I use the 'A' key)

    2.)GET OUT OF YOUR SIMULATOR!!!!!!!!

3.)Go to the Watkins Glen GP Track and let the AI driver run 2 laps
If the AI driver wrecks or goes off track (yes, this happens) you will have to start over at Step 1

4.)Go to the Toban GP Track and let the AI driver run 1 lap
There is a reason why I chose the two tracks. Improvising here is likely to result in an improper feeling profile.

5.)Exit rFactor and Return to the Profiler

6.)Open the SimXperience Profile Calculator for rFactor (attached below) in Microsoft Excel (possibly Open Office as well)
    a.)click math setup
    b.)double-click the first 1:1 G-Force
c.)Enter the four maximum / minimum values into the cooresponding section of the Excel calculator. (They are in order) Be sure to enter into the Recorded column.
d.)Repeat step C for each 1:1 Gforce Effect until you have entered new values into each currently populated cell in the Recorded column.
    SimXperience Profile Calculator.xlsx

7.)Return to the Profiler and Update the Min/Max Numbers
a.)Go back into each 1:1 G-Force effect and enter the proper values shown in the calculators Actual column.
b.)While in each 1:1 G-Force Effect be sure to uncheck both of the automatic adjustment checkboxes (do not forget this step!)
c.) The same values that you just entered into the right actuator math now need to be entered into the left actuator math or vice versa.

Thats it...go take your new profile for a spin. It should feel pretty darn good.

    Troubleshooting Tips:
If you wind up with a profile that has limited movement or road surface effects, then your AI driver probably went off-track. You can re-enable the auto-record feature in the 1:1 G-Force plugin in question (for example the lateral is often effected when going off-track) and let the AI driver try again. Then enter the newly recorded (probably alot lower) numbers into the calculator and update the profile with these revised actual values.

If anyone is having a hard time with this, let me know and I can put together a video tutorial.

Bernard the format on your SimXperiance Profile Calculator.xlsx is not acceptable to my Excel. I have tried changing it to the standard xls format without success.

Ebinary many thanks I can now use the file.
For future ref. can I assume that you were able to run the .XLSX download on your computer with a newer Excel and then re-save it with the older .XLS format ?

Exactly - I remoted over to my work machine where we use the new Ms Office (which I don't care for) and re-saved it in good old Ms Office 97-2003 format.

    :hi:
    my pistons are scn 150
no it not work well for me.
I've made two profile under rfactor for a DBR9 Aston Martin http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=DBR9 Challenge and Mini http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=MINI Challenge 2006 UK.

    1) Both cars pulled to the left under braking, i think lateral effect under brake isn't correct
    2) during braking, the pistons go up too much.
    I attach the two profile.

    the best profile remains: http://www.x-simulator.de/forum/rfactor-profiles-150mm-scn5-simxperience-ii-t1257.html

.... How can I increase the strength during downshifts?

Can you please post or PM the following (I cant get the megaupload):

-Copy of profile with recorded values
-Copy of profile modified with values from Excel calculator.

Then I can take a look to see if I get the same recorded values or if your AI driver went off the track, etc..

Unless you are using X-SIm version 2.1.0.3 and below, this profile calculator is obselete.

I will make one for 2.1.0.4 with the improvements learned from this version included just as soon as I have settled on a profile structure for the 2.1.0.4 verison. The few small changes to profile creation actually have a much larger impact on the way that I design a profile than I would have at first thought.

I continue to develop new ways to make profile creation easier and simpler. Instead of a spreadsheet and complicated set of instructions, I am devising a wizard. When the new Commander software is ready, I will be sure to create a post and download link.

Great news! Thx for your constant efforts!

Do you have a planned release date for your new commander release?
