    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF, 3DOF, DC motor, Arduino
Ok - here's my first build - it was more proof of concept - so I did really on the cheap - whith a few scaps lying around the yard. Mechanically, I doubt anyone will gain much, besides a wince here an there and maybe a chuckle or two :) My Moto Monster cooler mod was a touch of brilliance though and I'm sure some will gain from this. Believe it or not - this worked (sort of) - I will fill you in at the end...

I used https://www.xsimulator.net/2dof-motion-simulator-truck-wiper-motor-playseat/ tutorial as a guide and the instructions where great.

The frame was made of some old unused pool fencing - had to improvise a a bit (a lot :). Turn a blind eye to the messy area. It was really difficult doing this with a proper workshop. The fact I've never welded in my life before and having to weld galvanised steel made matters worse.

Just getting the concept together here - was awful trying to do this without a workshop.

Did a bit of extra welding here - didn't want a pole up my rear :)

Getting the base ready - needed it extra sturdy to support the prop shaft.

Seat mounted onto base - all going good.

A bit of paint and a mount for the gear stick - looking a little better.

Some finishing touches on the frame. Had to make it look somewhat presentable.

And now for the wiper motors. Again - a bit of a hack - doing on the cheap. A pair of corolla wipers. Will fill you in on the performance a little later.

Getting that pot to mount directly off the nut. A bit of rubber and PVC piping with some glue.

And now for the electronics and wiring... An old PSU case worked well.

My first motor controller heatsink - failed - overheated and blew the board.

Second moto monster and a LOT more cooling. I modded an intel CPU cooler and it worked like a charm. No more overheating issues.

I had to cut a few fins off for it to fit nicely onto the board.

And here is the working setup...

Well it worked for a while until I tried a few laps in F1 around Nuremberg. Those poor little corolla wiper motors did well - for a while - then one overheated - could have fried an egg on it. Not being the lightest frame didn't help matters much either...

As such - the project has been sitting dormant for a few months. Trying to revive it - needing the DIY licence for simtools - hence this post :)

Anyhow - I hope someone finds the CPU fan cooler mod useful.
