I'm new here and am looking into building a motion sim but as I read through all the information on the site and forums I am getting a little bit overwhelmed. So hopefully this question isn't too ignorant. if it is, please forgive me! :)

I'm trying to understand what piece of hardware I need to use to facilitate the connection between my PC and the simulator hardware or actuators. If I um understanding it correctly there are PCB boards I can build, but I would prefer to buy something pre-made if it exists. Can someone point me in the right direction to read and understand this aspect?

I've done some reading on the front page and the introduction PDF but I am still confused. Is there something that sort of maps the layout of getting a system up and running? Something that shows the basic components necessary in terms of hardware?

    Thanks!

Ok, so I'm starting to feel really igonorant here. I downloaded the jrk guide and extracted it but everything is XML files. How to I read them? I tried a google but it pretty much just gave options for free trials of xml editors.

Dunno about that, it is a word document loaded straight to file hosting. Beats me how it came out at your end as XML.

Once you downloaded the document (should be about 2.2 MB) rename the file extension to .docx.
    It then should open nicely.

How strange, I DL'd it twice and both times it came down zipped and when unzipped it has three folders inside and all documents are xml format. I'll try and see if renaming works and if not I will download it again. Weird....
