    Hi guys,

Time to kick off my build thread
So far I have just built a wooden static rig to have some fun on Assetto while I collect parts and research.

I'm taking inspiration from Dmax and Dr ADHD and Noorbeast for the design of the rig and can't thank them enough for their content.
Thanks to the entire community for such a wealth of information and assistance to new members.

Plan is to build a 2dof + TL motion platform and use this wooden upper frame intially for testing until I can weld up a nice alloy one.

    Main design considerations are:
    Compact (widthwise and height mainly)
    Cost
Fidelity and accuracy over total movement
    I don't want any delay
(Have never sat in a motion rig outside of Sega Rally but have high expectations!)

    Cheers
    Ryan

These are the motors I will be using
"Jazzy" wheelchair motors I believe they are 30:1
Backlash seems quite minimal by hand.
I am expecting to run quite short lever arms due to this ratio (possibly less that 65mm)
I am concerned they may get backdriven when parked but will cross that bridge later.
The fella I purchased them off was kind enough to machine the wheels down So I had a nice keyway'd hub to mount to
