I just want to see if anyone has a joyrider that is made out of metal square tubes that would be willing to share some dimensions and possible parts list. I just don't want to try to use the PVC list and try to modify it. Can't afford too much trial and error at this point. Ideally I would like multiple monitors on the front of it. At the start it will be one monitor then in the future three. I know it will affect the balance and the forward tilt so I'm hoping someone has already made a working one of these with similar parts. Thanks

    Hi eloverphx
Here's the drawing of me sim: Bild.png SimPlatform.zip You can measure the dimentions from the attached zipped drawing in SketchUp, it's pretty exact. I'm using 30x30mm steel tubes for the moving frames and 40x40mm tubes for the stand. It's work in progress, no proof of functioning yet…
The platform can be moved with SketchyPhysics, which you have to install together with Google SketchUp.
Please note: The longitudinal tubes on the outer frame are not drawn. But the dimensions should be easy to figure out.

Thanks for that. That will most helpful in my journey of getting motion. The tubing was a little bigger than I was thinking but I will go with those sizes. Always better to make it stronger.

    Re: Design of joyrider help.

From memory, my first ride was a joyrider design. Outside frame was 2 x 20mm steel on top of each other for strength, and the inside was scrap aluminium 20 x 45mm bar.
