Hi, I'm Francesc. I wanted to post here what has been the process of building my 2 dof racing sim.
In this thread I'll be showing all the steps i've followed (and ALL the problems i've had) building my setup.

In this post i'll make a list of all the materials i've used to make the structure and also the electronics.
    STRUCTRURE:
    -
Several meters of 2x4cm steel tubes.
    - Metric 10 threaded rod.
    - 5mm steel platen.
    - An office chair.
    - 1 metric 20 articulated bearing. (which I later had to replace with a Cardan mechanism)
    - 4 metric 10 articulated bearings.
    - Metric 10 screw caps.
This are the materials we used, we made the base improvisating a little bit, but it turned out real nice and stable.
    ELECTRONICS:
    -
    Arduino UNO
    - 2 BTS 797O 43A arduino motor controllers.
    - 2 100K potentiometers.
    - 2 12V 46A power supplies.
    - 2 24V 250W electric Motors.
This was pretty much what I used to make the whole setup.
To controll the motors I used SMC3 and SMC3 Utils, which worked pretty well. Now I only need to download SimTools and the plugins for Assetto Corsa.
I'll leave some photographs of the construction process.

Now that I have all of the structure, electronics and part of the software intstalled, I only need to download SimTools and test it with a real game. Wish me luck! (I'll post a video of it when I get it working)

Hello, I really like your 2dof design, in mine only the seat moves and I would like the entire platform to move with the steering wheel, I have engines similar to yours, have you tested them under load? I want to know if they heat up a lot, sorry for my English, I use a translator, greetings from Spain

Hi Antonio, I'm from Spain too. At the moment I've tried them half the power with me over for about 15-20 minutes, but only with the SMC3 test. That power hasn't been warmed almost (if they were a little warm, but almost nothing). Hi Antonio. I've only tested them at half the power with me on it for about 15-20 minutes, but just with SMC3 testing. At that amount of power, the motors almost didn't heat (only a tiny little bit).

My motors, when I had been playing for a while, did get hot. I put a PC fan on it and the change was brutal. They didn't get hot at all for hours and hours. By the way, what size are the connecting rods? I don't see them well in the photo. They seem quite long
