    Hi Guys,

Ok after going through a few threads and reading up on the subject i want to attempt this with a Dash Cluster i got from a client for free :)

Now i know i would need to get a few more things but what are my options and how do i go about getting started.

I have the following dashboard cluster to work with.

I would love to use as much as possible but if i could get the Speedo, rev Counter and maybe fuel and few lights working i would be extatic :)

    You have luck!
Everything is inside: socket pinout, baud rates, Node IDs...
You have to read documentation in my post to understand what is useful.

I wish you could get the same for me and my Mercedes Benz A class W176 cluster :)
    Where did you find this?

So what type of car is the dash cluster from that you got for free, as others may be very interested given @RacingMat's comments about the documentation you were able to find.

    Next steps:
► you have to buy a Canbus shield

► you have to find out the pinout of the socket of your cluster
    - ground,
    - 12V or 24V for a truck,
    - CAN high
    - and CAN low

If you can get the electrical wiring plan, we can have a look :)

    Hello,
I don't know what shield you got. But normaly need an Arduino, the pinout of the cluster and some wires to connect everything.
Now you can take your Id's from your document and a sample code for the shield if present and start coding.

If you have the sparkfun shield https://github.com/sparkfun/SparkFun_CAN-Bus_Arduino_Library

    Hi!

Did you find the electrical pinout to power up the cluster?

Can you see the pin number written on the BLACK socket?
    black.jpg

    Ground to pin 19
    +15V to pin 18
    +30V to pin 20
    Can Low to pin3
    Can High to pin4
    2015-11-19_10-48-32.jpg That should work!
