    My Motion Simulator:
    Motion platform
Hi all, this is the first forum post I've ever made (in 30 years!) and I admit I am now very much out of depth so any help would be so very, very appreciated.

I recently acquired a virtual reality motion platform, which was used to run the kind of VR platforms you see in shopping malls (kid's rollercoaster ride, Christmas sleigh ride etc.). I'm used to running SFX150 and Thanos combinations with flight simulators and this unit appears very similar in terms of servo/controller appearance.

The AC servos used within the base are 'EPS-B2 Series', made by a company called 'Dorna'. I have disconnected the incumbent PCs and used twin USB to RS485 serial adapters to connect the A+ and B- wires to a different PC with Simtools Pro installed. I have run the simtools program and set the interface as 'Serial', selected the correct COM port and entered the same data parity/transfer rate settings etc as per the COM port identified.

Once powered on, the 3 x actuators all calibrate and the controller displays a system 'green' status check symbol, which means everything is online and waiting for input. The PC recognises the RS485 serial adapters and there are no driver conflicts within Device Manager.

However, when trying to test the interface within Simtools, I am getting no response to the actuators at all. I've tried multiple settings/input parameters and if I'm honest, although I have got these to work with Thanos units before, I am at a loss as to what to input for a serial connection.

Has anyone had any experience of these servos before? Or can someone please let me know if there is something fundamental I am doing wrong? Screenshot_2023-03-07-15-26-30-86_99c04817c0de5652397fc8b56c3b3817.jpg IMG20230307152103.jpg

    Best regards,

    Tom

Thank you very much noorbeast. After searching as you suggested I can now see I need one of Thanos' AMC controllers
