    hello there
i just started a 3DOF build and looking to buy the motors for the rig i found these:
    https://dutch.alibaba.com/product-detail/12V-24V-High-Torque-Worm-Drive-62089903756.html

    The 12vdc 200watt 60rpm come with a 50:1 and
    the 12VDC 200watt 200rpm come with a 15:1 gear box.
    witch 1 is better for a 3DOF.

With a compact design keep in mind the motors used to drive it need to have plenty of torque. You would definitely want to use the 12vdc 200watt 60rpm that come with a 50:1, on my compact rig I use 200w + 60:1, I found 50:1 initially could not be back driven when new (can't move when unpowered), but after a period of use they loosen up and can be back driven, which in my case was a pain as I also used my rig as an office chair.

When using a rod and lever they are most torque efficient at 90 degrees and effective torque utilisation drops off rapidly over about 38-40 degrees movement in either direction. The yaw motor, lever and rod look to be very inefficient with the current configuration.
