I've got an old 130mm hc-sf102x servo with a shaft that measures around 16mm outer diameter with 14 teeth, and I'm trying to work out the best way to make a 70mm flange for it for mounting to a wheel, given I can't find anything off the shelf that matches it.

3D printing isn't really an option, and I don't trust it for load bearing applications. I was thinking of making a laser cut stack of steel plates, maybe 5-10mm in diameter and held together with locating bolts, with a slightly undersized central cutout that could be filed to fit. I figure this would work out cheaper than a custom machined part, and the whole thing would only need to be about 20-30mm long, so 6 plates at 3 bucks a plate would run me maybe 20 dollars, which is less than I'd pay for a custom machined one-off part.

Any alternatives or issues I haven't considered? Or anyone encounter this style of shaft before and found an adapter?
