    Hey @pmvcda!

Thanks so much for the update! Please don't ever feel you need to give a reason why your work on Mover has slowed a little lately.. Life is crazy for many of us in this current world I'm sure.

So good to hear though that you are still working on it! That is awesome.

    Hi all,

I've been trying to output FlyPT Mover to SMC3 Tools via UDP but just can't get it working. IP address (127.0.0.1) and port (20017) are correct (have previously been working with other software).
    What happens:

    1. Launch SMC3 Tools, then try to connect Mover: Mover complains it can't initialize UDP connection.
    2. Connect Mover, then launch SMC3 Tools: SMC3 Tools will crash without error message at the moment the GUI appears.

Any ideas and suggestions how to get them to play together? My aim is to monitor motors when fed by a 'synthetic' source, that is - a sine wave loop source in Mover, which is working nicely when using serial output. But then SMC3 Tools won't launch, I assume due to a COM conflict.

    Any help is much appreciated!

The same com port can only be accessed by 1 software, not 2 at the same time.
If you connect with Mover, you can't connect with smc3 or the other way around.

Thanks, that's why I was trying to connect via UDP instead ;-)
Any idea why that did not work out as described above?

    Thanks,

    Hey everyone, wanted to ask...
Is it feasible to use FlyPT as a controller for a DIY force-feedback joystick?

Since FlyPT offers the ability to use "Direct" which would control one specific motor, I'm thinking if I can connect FlyPT to two separate motors and have two "Direct" nodes in FlyPT, I should be able to effectively control at least the spring force of the joystick in X and Y and base it off the aircraft's speed.

I'm a complete noob to the electronics though, so may be completely talking out of my ass on this one.

Has anyone tried anything like this?

    Hi guys

Wondering whether this is the correct sequence to apply a spike filter? I am wanting to cancel out anything over a value of 3.

    SPIKE(LOGISTIC(EMALP(EMAHP(VALUE;1500);200);3;0.2);3.5;1;2)

    *Applies to longitudinal acceleration

...hmmm, well that didn't achieve what I wanted it to do. Anybody have an idea how I would cancel out the violent jolts when you hook up to the catapault in DCS? I could add more EMALP but then I lose the jolting effect of the launch..

*edit* seems reducing the emahp to 400 has helped.

Hi, I am new here. I have started a year ago with sfx100 and simfeedback. I am currently in the process of upgrading the rig for flypt mover. Until I have the controller ready, I am currently playing with the setup of flyPT Mover, and I am already so far that everything should work. I have been experimenting with the joystick input and I have two questions to better understand flyPT Mover:

    1. How can I get the rig to hold the position I input with the stick? Currently, the rig changes position when I move the analog stick and then returns to the neutral position even though my stick still has the angle. Currently, I do this via the pose DOF FROM VALUE.
    2. With the pose FROM NOISE GENERATED BY VALUE I noticed that the rig no longer returns to the neutral position. Is this so habitual? How can I prevent this?

    Cu Daboh

If you are using a high pass filter it will return to neutral, how fast depends on what you have the filter set at.

I always thought a higher number ie. 2000 for an EMAHP demanded a slow return. In this case it seems to make the jolts more severe.

with EMAHP you will be letting all trhe spikes through, try EMAHP 50

or just try with standard EMA at 500 ? I dunno as I havn't tried DCS properly

Hi! New to FlyPT. Is it possible to use it offline (no Internet access).
I´m getting a .NET error after starting it.

That´s what I´m doing. But its not a nice solution, specially if I want to minimize interactions to start a simulation.
    Thanks anyway!

Looking at the kinematics of a 2DOF Linear seatmover I'm wondering why one cannot include Yaw? I know this is not a Mover specific question, but I intend to you Mover and was thinking this would be a way to get some rear traction loss.

Just to clarify, Yaw as an axis rotates around a center point of the rig, while Traction Loss relies on a pivot point somewhere near the feet, so they are very different. A 2DOF seatmover is not capable of either.
