    Hi everybody ,

New to this board , enjoying everyday the work of all ya members. As a complete noob on electronics/steels/cockpits/DIYbuildings etc.... I'm totaly amazed by all the projects.

Even if I'm a noob , since I discovered this board , I wanted to build my own sim ! Well , as I know my limited capacities , I would better ask someone to build it for me. As for an exemple , I would like to let him ( my builder ) see some good creations.

There I hope you will allow me to link some of thoses threads to him.

More than that , I know a young french company just settled in this activity.
I wanted to have your opinions on their offers :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gO4eHCHS_I

Don't know if I'm allowed to link.....

Anyway , they offer the full motion sim ( as on the vids ) for 2900 EUR which is about 4500 USD. Everything is included ( cockpit - if we can call that a cockpit - , seat , g27 , shifter support , electronics etc.... )

Does that sounds like a good deal to you ? Could I get about the same thing building it myself ?

    Thanks for your attention.

The users in this forum are building that kind of simulator by themselve.
Look deeper here, read the threads about scn5 and you will know. :)

You can do a cockpit like it for very less than 2900€.

If you choose to make the electronics yourself (tonicgr cards), if you take wiper motor insteed of scn5 for motion, and if you choose steel profile insteed of alu profile, you can do this for about 600€ :

    - for electronics, it cost about 250€ (I bought all I need do make the tonicgr cards for 180 €, tools included, and the 2 pcb had cost 50€),
    - for wiper motor, it cost about 50€ for 2,
    - you can find à seat for less thant 100€,
    - the g25 can be bought for about 150€,
    - the steal profile cost less than 5€ for one meter, you will use less thant 10 meter, so it cost about 50€

For sure, it's not fast as buying a built one, but I think it's pretty much interesting because it's you that do the job. You can make the cockpit exactly how you want (there are lot of settings in X-sim ...).

    Good luck !

    PS : i'm french too ;)

For sure, it will be less expensive, but you must have time to do this work! You need some material, welding set, drilling machine,.... you need to weld parts metal, to make holes, you need place to do all of that.
And really, do you have the same sensation with wiper motor instead of SCN5?
It's interesting to do this by yourself, like when you do your own Pizza but you could buy inside supermarket if you want if you don't have time. It's your Choice and your money.

I think that Frex, SimXperience, Prosimu do this job for the people who doesn't have time and want to have a system ready to go with the warranty.
