I use motors like that on my simulator. Good powereful motors but really do require some serious current, like 30 amps to get good solid motion.
The freight cost will be the killer. I looked at buying 6 to send to Australia, it worked out that including shipping they were $90 each. I could buy them locally for $120 and get warranty. Kinda pointless trying to say $30 each. Well for me it was.

They are even more powerful than the others and probably heavier. Not to mention rated at 40amps you are going to need one serious h-bridge. The other motors are rated at 16amps, of which can be run by a JRK, but you would need to run the JRKs at 30-34amps peak. They will handle it with heatsink and fan cooling.
Motors like this are not going to be cheap in shipping. Try sourcing a 12 volt golf buggy motor from a local supplier.
I did an ebay search related to your area.
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/ELEKTRO-GOLF-TRO ... 500wt_1158 , I have not seen the motors, but apparently they are from these things.

I priced 6 of the first motor to get sent from China to Sydney, slow freight, each motor was $28 US and freight for each was $70 because of their weight , but that's just here anyway.

That would not be good....but i guess the motor should be good? And if on the other forum we have a shop for the amc and hbridge....why nt have a set incl the pot meters and motors too? In that case we could buy in bigger quantities also.... i think it would be great if you could buuy a complete set so you only need to get your own frame and chair

The motors are VERY good, I use them currently. You can refer to these posts
    2dof-redesigned-big-worm-gear-motor-sim-t3640.html
    2-dof-big-motor-foot-placement-sim-t3822.html

As for your suggestion, funnily enough myself and a sim counterpart are doing just that with motor - pot setup. We are testing some motors and pot configurations, as well as looking at setting them onto jrks ready , so build sim, plug in motors and away you go!

How did you mount the shaft and lever on it?

the motors had a 12mm hollow shaft on it, so I found a 12mm bolt , then made a lever to the length I wanted, in this case 45mm ctc, drilled a hole and bolted it to the motor via the 12mm bolt. The other end of the lever has a 10mm hole for the rod ends.
Have a look at this picture [IMG]
it may give you a better idea of what I did.
    Cheers, David.

I only use just under 1/2 a turn. The piece of rubber at the bottom was a stopper from smashing into the wood base. I should have mounted the motor a bit higher to overcome this.
My new build have extra space for the motor levers to swing now.

Thats about $83 AUD, still a good price if that is one each. The motors are well worth it, they have some kick!
