I'm just starting down the rabbit hole of research for a 6DOF rotating actuator rig, and i have no idea where to start for motor recommendations. I saw the FAQ post for winch motors, are those strong enough to handle the rig and me(200lbs), and how could i figure that math out. once i get an idea of what kind of motor i want im gonna start 3d modeling the rig and start posting more often for ideas.

A 6dof is an ambitious and potentially costly first rig, so do plenty of research and detail your plans for member feedback before starting to order anything.

Start in the 6fof section of the FAQs: https://xsimulator.net/community/faq/6dof.22/category

Then use then search recent member projects similar to what you want to build. Following in the footsteps of others will save you time, money and frustration.

80ST servomotors, 50:1 gearboxes... super fun. But requires lots of welding.

What motor pot or servo motor would be cheapest for the weight of 150kg(me and rig all together)

Motor choice and design are intimately related, so please start your own dedicated build thread and outline what sort of rig you would like to build, and if possible include some rough dimensions.
