    Hi.

    I downloaded X-Simulator 1.6.9. I’m using two separate computers, both with Windows XP. Computer ‘A’ has GTR2, Yoda2, and Force sender on it. Computer ‘B’ has Remote Yoda, and Force Profiler on it.

    The wheel I’m using with GTR2 is the Logitec Momo Racing (USB). I don’t have any motion control electronics right now, trying to get all X-Simulator software working first. Below are the functions that are working and the ones that are not. Any help would be appriciated.

    Yoda2 and Remote Yoda: Both are connected and communicating thru IP address, but do not display any force feedback effects.

    Force Profiler: Force Profiler and Force Sender are connected thru IP address. Fields #22 and #24 in the Force Profiler are active in Table of transmitted Force Sender effects.

    Force Sender: GTR2 will not start from Force Sender so I have to do the normal way. While playing GTR2, computer ‘A’ shuts down (turns off).

Während der Wiedergabe GTR2, Computer 'A' heruntergefahren (deaktiviert).

    Thank you for your help sirnoname. I downloaded the yoda video and vlc player, but it won't play the video. It would be great if you and others with instuctional video could upload them to youtube. I'll keep trying to get the vlc to play the yoda in action file.

    I managed to get the video working. Not sure if there should be sound, but the video plays up to 7 minutes and 45 second. I noticed in delete released effect in Yoda in the video is active, but X-Sims instruction is to deactivate it. I activated this feature in my Yoda and no effects appear yet. Do any changes have to be made in GTR2?

    Hi Bruce

    Welcome!

    Here is a working link to the complete video:

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O01LU8LQ

    Please try to Yoda2 without any other X-Sim application running. Dont start remote yoda, Profiler, and Sender.
    Just start GTR2 then Yoda2 on your gaming pc and try to capture FF effects.

    After you've got managed this, you can go on with the Sender and Profiler.

    regards
    ego

    Re:

    Hi again egoexpress and sirnoname.

    It’s been a few months since I’ve worked with the X-Sim software because of problems I had with my computer and other more pressing matters in my life. But I’m back now, and have made some progress with the X-Sim software. I watched the Yoda video and learned how to view the released effects, but when I right click on an effect to ‘use data for export’ I get an error message saying ‘this data is not usable for export’. What causes this?

    Another issue is that ‘Remote Yoda doesn’t display all the effects that the Yoda Force Feedback Scanner does, which you will see below. Any help would be appreciated.

    Yoda Force Feedback Scanner:
    Sine DirectX8/9
    Friction DirectX8/9
    Damper DirectX8/9
    Spring DirectX8/9
    Sine DirectX8/9
    Sine DirectX8/9
    ConstantForce DirectX8/9
    Sine Directx8/9

    Remote Yoda:
    Sine DirectX8/9
    Friction DirectX8/9
    Damper DirectX8/9

    Now I am able to see it clearer as well.

    Constant forces
    frictions
    dampers
    etc.

    are just like categories, not exportable values itself.

    So one will have to expand those categories, and selct the right values I think. Sure just after they have been detected, like one can see in the tutorial vid.

    Thanks
    Christian

    Thanks for the replies. My connection speed between the two computers is 100Mbps. I expanded the list in Remote Yoda to see the active affects listed below. My apologies for not listing the individual effects before.

    dwmagnitude = acceleration thrust and brake thrust
    Ioffset = steering
    dwperiod = speed
    dwperiod = throttle
    Ioffset and dwperiod = rumble strips on turns
    IMagnitude = crash

    To view and attempt to export the effects using the Yoda2 Scanner, I close GTR2 game. I did however attempt to export each effect category, but only after I realize I couldn’t export the individual active ones, I figured it couldn’t hurt to try it since the correct way didn’t work.

    When you said dual-screen sirnoname, I was thinking dual processors :uups:
    Are there any graphics or video cards you and egoexpress would recommend?

    Also, can you give me details about the DLL plug-in as it applies to the game directory?

    Thank you

    Let's see if we can solve this issue together.
    Ok, tell me step by step your approach.

    -start yoda
    -start GTR
    -expand effect categories

    And then? Do you see any changing magnitudes/values/numbers in the Yoda window while playing GTR? Have you tried it with other games as well? Just to see if it is a GTR only issue?

    Regards
    Christian

    I have'nt tried X-Sim with any other game yet. Yes, after starting Remote Yoda and GTR then expanding effects I did see the changes (magnitudes/values/numbers) in Yoda Remote. Not all of the ones that were visible in Yoda2 but most. I could'nt export effects from Remote Yoda, and since I had to exit the game to view Yoda2, I could'nt export them from there either.

    I decided to use the dual screen setup sirnoname suggested. I bought a XFX NVIDA GeForce 8600 GT video card (PCI express) and now can go from GTR2 to Yoda2 and export the active effects to the list and then save. I am now working on the next step. :thbup:

    I do have a question for you egoexpress. From what I understand there are 2 different plug-in DLLs. Where do I find the one that is to be copied into my GTR2 game directory.
