I have a ProSimu P7MP (6 DODF) and want to get into VR. The problem is I can't find anything that would work with Simtools. I have seen videos with witmotion, or lighthouse, etc... but they all work with SRS or SimHub.

I would hate to leave SimTools behind... Any tips to get this working properly?

There is a bit of confusing and misleading information out there. I have the Quest 3. I attached my right controller to my rig configured it and it just works. I use OVRMC for SteamVR and most games. It puts a menu in SteamVR (left controller menu). Set it to right controller and enable. This is straightforward.

The exception is MSFS which doesn’t work for me from SteamVR. I have also loaded OXRMC which works with Oculus native graphics. There is an init file you have to edit to select the right controller and enable. I have it enabled automatically but you can define key sequences to enable and disable.

I know this works for Quest 2 and Quest 3 and don’t see any reason why it would not work for other headsets as well.
