I know I would like to go with 50 mm (2”) bore and 300mm (12”) stroke cylinders. But I’m confused as to how to size up proper valves? Is there a way to figure it out or something I should be looking for, like CV value or something?

I picked up this manifold and valves but it just looks way too small  , any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking thru stuff for the auto industry, I have found valve manifolds made for air shocks and struts and there even 12v. I don’t think the price is too bad either at 175$ USD. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts?

You can get the original rock'n'ride valves for much less money

I studied their homepage, but they have not enough informations about the valves.

They should do it but dont blame me if they dont. Cause I dont know it for sure.

The best would be, you send an email to them. Ask them if the valves have a closed center position and about the response time. They seem to be like the Festo 5/3 but I cant say anything about the air-hose connection diameters as they are in inch.

Afaik, Renoboss uses SMC parts, but for some reason he disappeared from this forum and cant help us concerning this matter.

    regards

BTW, if they do not fit you could put them, with some air jacks, in your car and jump with it through your neighborhood ;-)

Thanks for all your help egoexpress!

LOL - my neighbors would love me

What kind of response time do the original valves have?

I believe all the ports on the manifold are about .95 cm; I’m thinking I will probably have to slow the released air down a little.
I'll give them a call tomarrow

    Thanks again!

hmm, they dont seem to be the manufacturer of the valves. Imho they just put a tag with their logo on them. They seem too pricey.

But, to be honest, I dont know the price of the Festo MEH 5/3 G 1/8, as well. Snaipa wants to check it out for us ;)

BTW, perhaps it would be cheaper to buy it without manifold block. Imho you dont need it absolutely. But dont know it for sure.

I called on the valves today at airridepro.com and the sales rep confirmed they are center closed valves, but he had no data on response time.

    center closed is good

The rest seems ok as well, only the response time would be important. Either he dont know it for sure, or he doesnt wanted it to say, because the specs are too bad ;)
Why havent you asked him about the original manufacturer?
Perhaps you should force him to investigate it. Cause its much money to waste if they dont fit.

    The Festo ones are these:

    Part number:

Another member here bought a complete valveblock of them for 40 Euros at ebay.

Perhaps luck!? You could try to observe ebay a few days. Or by the ones from the shop you linked here. But ask for the response time before you buy them

    regards

You mind checking these out egoexpress?

These valves look decent and they are available online.

They are not cheap, but they are cheaper that the festo one’s referenced in this thread, at least for me here in the states.

    • Cv: 1.0
    • Port Sizes: 1/8 & 1/4 NPFT
    • 5 ported, 2 & 3 position, 4-way, spool & sleeve
    • Flow Capacity: 46 SCFM @ 80 PSIG / 985NI/M @ 6 Bar
    • O.P. Range: 28 Hg. Vac. to 150 PSIG / Vac. to 10 Bar
    • Temp. (Ambient): -10 F° to +115 F° / -23 C° to +46 C°
    • Non-lubricated or lubricated service
    • Switch on: 10ms / Switch off: 35ms

    http://www.aircylindersdirect.com/webap ... figuration

should I get them with 1/4 NPTF ports since the cylinders I will be using have 1/4 NPTF connections?

    These could be suitable.

If I was you, i'd prefer the 1/4 with air hose adapters. If you want to use bigger cylinders some day, you'll have the right valves.

And they have the same price anyway

    regards
