HTC just release the pricing and clarified payment options ready in advance of pre-orders opening tomorrow.

So far free ground shipping is confirmed for the US, but is not yet known for elsewhere.

For Aussies there is a handy Google Spreadsheet where you can speculate on the price of Oculus Touch and compare the Rift costs to the Vive: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...c4k_t6smaiIHQ/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=981926132

I am in for a late night tomorrow, flogging the F5 key to get my pre-order in. I hope HTC does not have the same sort of problems Oculus did when its web page could not handle the load.

This first gen consumer VR is definitely expensive, limited in content and really is still really aimed at the niche enthusiast market, so it is wise to wait @Pit if what you need is wide game support as that will take some time.

My Vive order is in but not overly happy with the $110 shipping fee for Aussies, when it is free shipping in the US.

I have an order also. 11 minutes past. I'll make my mind up between this and or the cv1 now. Still it's nothing compared to trying to get Glastonbury tickets. That's a true melon twister.

I had to do mine twice before it confirmed.

The Vive comes in at 1,299.66 AUD with shipping, which is pretty hefty, but I expect the Rift + Touch will be slightly more because of two lots of shipping.

Keep trying, people on reddit are saying it eventually gets through.

8 minutes, I expected a link on the countdown page and when that did not appear I had to fine the order page via Reddit, then had to confirm my address twice.

Well, yes it went through eventually, MAY shipping though, perhaps HTC aren't much better than Oculus after all.

And back to the $110 shipping, it's just taking the mick as, as you say free shipping in the US.

The itchy trigger finger is a modern malaise and having stayed up all night watching the black Oscars my brain was frazzled more than usual.

AU$1300, mid market rate. So will be a bit more than that.

HTC really stuffed up not having an order link on the countdown page. Apparently the order page link came up a couple of minutes early on Steam, but I only run Steam on my sim computer so no joy there.

Have to agree with you @jangomoose the $110 shipping stings, but I suspect I can be confident they will actually ship to Tasmania, while that is in doubt for Oculus.
