    DEAR ALL

I HAVE BOUGHT MYSELF A VERY LARGE AND OLD HYDRAULIC SIMULATOR

THE PRODUCT IS A FX SIMULATION MIRAGE U2

I would like to convert this machine to work with a racing simulator..
'For now I am not bothered what game will work and not.

Will be happy to make it work with any game at all... flight or racing sim.

I would like to hear your opinions and if there is any pros reading this some guidance/ help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks for reading.

    Marco

hello, post pics of the motors and controllers + specs of these also (labels should have the details)
Also, that would be interesting for us (t least me anyway to know how it works)
    good luck

Not much as far as specs..

It's an idraulic system. As it looks it has 3 electro valves that intros 3 actuators...

The main controller it;s pretty old and obsolete.
Planning on monitoring it's operation and see what sort of signals ho backwards and forwards.

It has A of and looks as the bridge between the comouter and the hardware is done via serial through a micro controller
Made by SYEL CP50... no information available about it...

    Motor is a 5.5kw 3phase motor.

Don't have a 3 phase supply so gonna order a 15Hp single phase to 3 phase converter to get it going.

Would be great to have help on this venture.

    Many thanks for your reply...

it has three actuators so i imagine is a 3Dof??

following video shows one similar working

In any case it is sacramentally impressive to see the angles taken especially on the side.
Then the movements are rather gentle and less violent than with the motors

Yes, that's why i Bought it.

I thought it would same me a heck of a lot of time buy buying a working mechanical structure and adapt it.
I understand that a racing sim doesn't move that much, so the idea is to make it move less when on a car, make it move more when on a flight and make it move whatever it needs to move when just sitting and enjoying a joyride on a roller coaster.

This project will probably take a long time to get off the ground and to be completed but once it's done it's gonna be awesome :)

Wowzers that's big and ambitious, wish you luck with the conversion :) Once working it will be great fun

    Nice toy you have.
If you plan to drive it with SimTools it will work with every game SimTools works.
You will need an Arduino with a special code that drives the electro valves via solid-state-relays.
    It's a 3Dof, it has 2 actuators in the back(left/right), and 1 in front(middle).

    I'm just getting envious :)

    Haha...
    thanks for your input.

I have made some tests today and the controller that the unit shipped with came faulty... fuming with the chap that sold it to me as I bought it as working.

Was hoping to reverse engineer the unit to check what signals go backwards and forwards.

The controller u it is an Italian product and there is no information at all online about it. I caontacted the Italian factory and three kindly sent me the manual.

Looks as the controller receives data from encoders so this righ might have some sort of encoders positioned... no idea on how to get the info back into pc... looks S I need to start from scratch and strip out all wiring on the cont older box and identify what does what.

This thing has loads of sensors..

Doors have sensors, the seats itself has sensors, it has emergency stop switches, it has the obvious safety limit switches... pretty impressive but looks as it's gonna be a lot of work ;-)

Let's just say that just to ship it to my location it cost so far £1600 which is about $1900.. not finished with shipping costs as it needs moving again...

just ordered a single phase to 3 Phase converter 11kw because the current site only has a 63A single phase supply and that was £1500..

Yes, let's keep the cost of the machine offline for now otherwise you might just call me mad or more money than brains lol..

BTW, I am not rich, but when I was a kid I said to myself I will have one of these one day... now I do haha... the one I saw was a lot bigger (6 seater), but this one will do...

having spent around 1700$ on my wheen alone I dont think thats a lot. I ask because I want one. I am in the US though and this appears to be a UK manufacturer so I need to find a US equivalent. Im not rich either but Im comfortable so getting one of these ready to go for less then 5k to me is a steal.

    That's cool

These new are about £50k I think...
you can get Some used for about £12k

    Look up venturer S2

    That's very similar to mine...

Not sure if any more available but if I do I will let you know...

I am planning to invest a bit on it as I want new interior, new surround sound, new screens, possibly curved ones, VR add on, new seat, wheel, PEDALS ETC..
I HAVE TWO COMPLETE FANATEC SETS, WITH 4 wheels 2 bases, 2 pedals, shifter, etc...

Will be insulating it as well so the sound of games keeps tripled (loud enough as is with hydraulics...
