    Hi, community,
this is my first post and i am a amateur sim racer looking for a simple solution
what i want to achieve is a motion system that only will give me more feeling on car acceleration, braking point and gear change, and optionally some minor lateral g force
i am on strict budget and my rig is build in wood i leave in apartment and i don't have a garage to start playing with metal, soldering is not an option
watching videos in you tube my favourite motion system is the simexperience but i will be happy with something even more simple than that, something that move and shake in only one axes
I purchase and Arduino mega and i am working in a data center so i have plenty of server power supply.
I have some scrap old big hp printers so i can eventually recuperate some motors and parts
please let me know if you can help me or reroute me to a current post with similar request
    thanks in advance
    Gigi

I am adding more information to help:
The sim rig is build entirely in wood mostly 2x4 that is very solid
my racing seat is a nice and heavy Acura RSX 2002 racing seat installed on rails on top of the base made by 2x4
I am using sim commander to drive several shakers , one is installed under the seat and 2 are installed inside the seat on both side where the airbags were located originally
as soon i can post links i will add some pictures
    Thank you

If there is a fair bit of weight to move then consider a shoulder mount design, as it has good leverage and there are plenty of member examples in the build threads: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/shoulder-mount-rod-angles.149/

You can get decent motors via Ebay in Canada: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GEAR-MOTOR-...384?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51bd392f00

Have a hunt through car scrap yards for an old tailshaft, so you can use the universal joint. Even in wood you can make a pyramid frame around the shaft and bolt through it to secure it firmly.

It sounds like you could use the existing base, depending on its size, and make a top base for the seat, but it will be clearer when you post some pictures of it.
