Looking around the forums, I'm having a hard time finding proper drivers. IBT-2s seem to no longer be recommended becuase they burn out. I see a 100a board that's 2 drivers but then I would need to go from 2 separate PSUs to 1 bigger one. Is there a simple drop in replacement for the IBT-2s or what else have pcople done?

I have not used them, but the 100a boards look to take from 12-48v so I can see why you would need to change PSUs, unless inadequate, on the specs you should be able to use the 100a boards as very robust alternatives to IBT-2s.

Or am I missing something in what you plan?

I'm using two Meanwell LRS-350-24 units (350w) right now with two of the jazzy style wheelchair motors (24v/250w at 75rpm). I don't think a single 350w power supply is enough to drive both motors as they'd max 500 watts.

Wire them in paralel. Not optimal but it should work. Also did you measure that they actually consumes 500W? I doubt that they do if the seat is balanced.

Yea I was thinking that. I hear there can be issues merging power supplies like that though. I don't want to burn down my house. Wife would be mad at me.

I presumed you were using 2 IBT2s and could do the same with the 100a boards .

I get the 100a boards can do both motors, but the option is there to use 2, as a drop in replacement.
