i was just driving around feeling how my car reacts to forces and wa thinking about the underseat u-joint.
Has anyone ever put it on a angle?
while feeling the mommentum of my car it seems that while i am braking the car wants to throw me out of my seat and while accelerating it pulls me in. here is a hand drawing of my idea. is it worth thinking about? or can anyone already see a problem. IMAG0880.jpg

The Uni is used to support the weight in the chair or frame so that all the motor is doing is tipping and holding it off balance, the biggest trick in build a good simulator is to have a balanced rig, I fear tipping the uni over will cause it to become heavy one sided. Welcome to try thou.

With Accel and Braking we use the surge effect which is the same thing. But we inverse the feeling, ie as the car accelerates the chair quickly flicks back to a point and this feeling actually feels correct as you have trouble lifting your back off the chair, and Im only talking 2-3 deg in a Seatmover , surprising the effect it has. And on Braking the chair dips forward slightly cause your back to actually lift away from the chair. Basically as a car accels it lifts its front end and when it brakes it lowers its nose.
The hard thing most people have trouble with is , we are not mimicking the exact motion of the ride, ie the forces are not equal, what we are actually doing with the motion cues, is to fool the brain into thinking were in motion in a car/plane.
The immersion factor is massive and very addictive too.
