Hi , ive been looking around the forum and am loving all the sims that are being made . I was wondering if you could use X-sim with an industrial 6-axis robot . I work for a second hand robot dealer and have access to pretty much all robots on the market now and the past 20 years , as my background is ABB i would probably use one of these.

What i'm struggling to find is the way to get the force info from the game and in what format would it be . The robots have pretty much any comms protocol such as serial (RS232) or ethernet . Am i right in thinking X-sim can output a string over serial from the pc comm port ? if so i could interpret this data in the robot and translate to a movement .

I hope someone technical could answer this question ? :sos:

It´s easy to send serial strings to the roboter arms when the are controlled by simple ASCII control characters, but it needs a lot of efforts to make a usable AND lifesafe profile as a robotic arm got a lot of axes which can be controlled independently from eachother. Without a hardware mechanical safety and movement limiting implementation i repeat the answer of sirnoname:

Do not do this!!! You can try it for testing and developing issues, but never get your body in that thing!

Time to clarify such things in the user license agreements i think!
