What do most people use for connectors between pushrods and the motors lever? It looks like ball joints of some kind but I haven't seen much conversation on here about them.

    Hi
In the UK we call them Rose Joints, in the RC model world their called Ball Links
the one pictured is M12 size with high angle displacement spacers which then use M8 bolts.
I get mine from China via ebay.

Perfect, that's exactly what I was picturing but my google-fu was failing me! I guess they are called rod ends on this side of the pond.

    Thanks!

JBoogie, the ball joints are actually called Heim Joints. If you are going to use pipe for the push rods you can get bungs for the Heim joints. The bungs can be welded inside the pipe which then allows the Heim joints to screw into the bung for adjustment.

These are the ones that I have been purchasing via Ebay they are inexpensive at 15.00 a set:

Awesome thanks! Any particular pipe used? Copper plumbing pipe will work?

I used steel water pipe off the shelf at HomeDepot. 3/4" pipe, the inside diameter is 1/2" which matches the bungs.

You might have a hard time getting copper pipe to solder well to the steel bungs. Steel pipe and a welder (or even screw them together through the sides) would be your best bet.

Here in the south, USA, we call them rod-ends. I bought high end 1/2" threads rod-ends on eBay, about 9.00 us ea. They are really nice, high quality units.
I checked at my local Auto-Zone and they were 28.00 EACH. Go figure.

    Good luck

Rod ends here and yes shop around, local bearing supplier, $19 each, for the same thing from a wholesaler $4 each. Ring around a few places including suppliers and be polite. You may just get a good deal.

Sounds like you had the same trouble as my other Melbourne counterpart in getting them. Ring around bearing wholesalers, not retail/trade counters.
My supplier is a small supplier and I was lucky to find them at such a good price. I cannot give out details, sorry.
Best you ring around as suggested. Forget just looking online, speak to a human over the telephone.
    I use mainly PHS10 - 10mm

I just checked my costing, $5.50 each, sorry.

drop us a PM, I can ring my supplier on Monday, but you will have to buy at least 8 of them. And pay for freight, but I may be able to organize something to get sent direct. Send me your Suburb so I can quote a freight cost. And a phone number so I can talk to you.
    Cheers, David.

Thanks for the offer Dave, but I already bought the ones in the link I posted. Even with the shipping cost, they were still way cheaper than anything I could find anywhere else...
