I am putting together a 2 DOF joyrider based sim.
I am asking for anyone that knows to review my list and correct me if I am wrong.
I have the frame, gimble, cockpit which I plan to build from metalmate box tubulars.
Whilst I am comfortable with building the unit I am uncertain about the morion control,
    I have
    2x JRK controllers
2xDC gear motors alternatively 2 or 4 wiper motors
2x pulley system for greatest degree of motion
    1x potentiometer
    2x HP 575W PSU
    Is this all?
How much trouble is getting this stuff to work? I fly Xplane 11 and DCS.

    Cheers,

    Lloyd

You will need 2 pots, or better yet 2 Hall Sensors instead of pots, as Hall Sensors are very accurate, won't break if over rotated and have a very long service life, I use these, but any with similar specs would work: http://au.element14.com/bi-technolo...fs/sensor-hall-0-2v-20v-to-10v-pin/dp/2319662

Be aware that wiper motors need ground isolation: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/wiper-motor-mandatory-ground-isolation.25/

Wiper motors are not particularly powerful, they are OK with lots of inherent design leverage but struggle where it is limited.

    Hi noorbeast,

Thank you for taking the time to address my post; may I ask the wiper motors are not regarded as powerful, what would you suggest that is as easy to setup? I want to avoid as much programming as possible. Id rather fly than troubleshoot code.

    cheers,
    L

Alternatively I see robot shop has some motors with planetary drive gears 100:1 and 50:1 as I have read the JRK controllers are not useable with higher power motors. Does anyone have a motor they can supply a link to that is tested with this sort of setup?
