JRK 12v12 Flashing Red LED

    I'm pretty sure I fried one of my JRK 12v12s but figured I ask anyway. Does anyone know what a flashing red LED on a JRK 12v12 means?

    The red error LED indicates an error. If there is an error stopping the motor (besides the Awaiting Command error bit), then the red LED will be on. The red LED is tied to the active-high output ERR, so when there is an error, ERR will be driven high, and otherwise it will be pulled low through the LED: https://www.pololu.com/docs/0J38/all

    Thanks. I read that in the docs, but it doesn't mean much to me at this point since I'm still learning all of this. I'm getting a rapid blinking of the red LED and my computer doesn't recognize the JRK when it is connected via USB.

    The blinking red light is a fatal error, but it also applies when things like incoming serial data has some major flaws in it.

    Not being recognised is a likely indication of being fried, along with a puff of smoke and burning smell, though it could be a faulty USB cable as well.

    Thanks again. I figured it was fired. I tested multiple usb cables and hubs. Chalk this one up as a learning experience.

    What do you think you did to the JRK ? Did something blatantly happen when testing, Do you know what you did to cause it ?


    PS Pololu is VERY helpful when something goes wrong, For example, my JRK's have been running pretty much flawless for 3+ years now, Recently had one drop out (driver chip failed) and Pololu were more than happy to warranty it @ 50% off after a bit of Diagnosing.

    The wire came off of the AUX pin. Reconnected it and puff. Thats the last thing I remember happening.

    Thanks for the Pololu info, I shot them an email. I already bought a new one so we'll see what they say.
