    Ha Ha !!

I had this idea pop into my head about rally cars when i used play with one back in the 80s (mk2 escort) now my lasting memory was the stones clattering underneath the car sort of a feel to it due to the focused sound from the clattering.
It might sound silly but i thought it would be an awesome add to a sim if it could be made by clusters of small solinoids that clatter random clunks on the sim in each corner and under seat with a signal from something
I know they have sound in game but i find it could be better than that but then again ive been at shows where the sims have been on.

Sorry if i sound stupid with this but just remember it so well to this day the stones.

Have fun don't laugh too hard at me.

If the audio can be isolated you could possibly use a combination of sound and transducers to recreate the effect. Transducer support for SimTools is being worked on and when done will open up new opportunities to experiment with haptics.

Im sure it would be awesome effect if you can imagine a cluster of small soliniods bolted to a thin sheet of metal and a bar welded raised across it with some hand screw type knobs so you can change the actual tone of the plate applying pressures in diffrent areas, then you if wanted can have damper sleave that slot into a section to adapt sound transfer again to the other side and change loudness and thud so all software needs to do is fire it to move randomly when needed for the effect but fast. everything else is mechanical to tune it so i guess can be a simple triger to detonate a sequence thats random seperate to the game. lol
you can place at each corner of rig and foot well i wonder what the soun d is you can actually make from it i guess its whats on the end of the soliniod plungers.

Im glad your joining the fun :)

I find thimgs like this and lots of people together can trigger something else when your minds start with other things evolving from fun ideas.

I made a 10" tactile transducer out of an old sub and was awesome in a crash, if i could have isolated it that would have been ace so it did nothing until a hard crash :) the best bit would be to tune it so it would thud on jump landing or hitting your chassis on riding curbs, i often wonder how it would work with a smaller one like arua type then bolted to the sub so you get a full range.

Idont understand everything as yet with motion sims just what i could play with on my triple screen ps3 set up n gt5.
    was defo fun tho.

you could use cheap solenoids from steptronic shifters

this was intented for pedal vibration

    Thats a cool video :)
I was at goodwood festival of speed and there was a few driving sims there so ofcorse i had to try them all, there was one that used the tactile trasducer on the pedal mapped to the anti lock brakes and i was amazed at it.
It was a platform motion sim abit like the dbox design but i didnt think it was any good due to no forces just a fram bobbing up and down.
The idea i was thinking was something the tranducer prob can not do as its not i direct vibration, idea its a surround feel and space of cockpit surroundings the totally random clonking on platyes is to give a real in car experience way of my thinking so say go off track into a gravel track it fires up first wheel then the rest follow.
I think 5 soleniod s would do if a random program can run it it would then take the problem of fast reaction of each solenoid away and could make diffrent sounds hitting the plate, was just a memory i had of the mk2 rally car and driving it on gravel amazing feeling when rallying.
