Hello all. First sorry my bad english language skill, but i try my best :)

I think is time start my project tread. I hope somebody wants to help me. Thanks for beforehand Tommy in Finland. I found this forum couple weeks ago and i notice forum includes very much information and very interesting projects.

My own purpose is do good simulator with wiper motors, h-shifter, maybe handbrake, real pedals.. maybe more if x-sim software support.

    My equipment:
    Ready:
    - C2D, 4870 -computer
    - Sony 32 LCD
    - Logitech Driving Force (only wheel stay) (Can i add stepless clucth my Driving Force Pro? I do new pedals assembly, but i need 3 potentiometer, what wheels undestand.

    Missing:
    - Seat (maybe orig. seat test and next to that momo/OMP seat)
    - 2wiper motors (Does anyone have a experience what wiper motors is best? I go today in junkyard and i look possible big motor (watt)? Or i look possible fast? (thats harder)
    - Power Supply is test phase car battery and next to that computer power supply.
    - Pedals assembly
    - What i need plus that? AVR controller? H-bridge? of course potentiometer wipermotors.

I plan i weld body furniture pipe example. Pedals assembly includes some car original pedals and i weld iron box to pedals. Angle adjusment is possible that way.

What is best way place to seat? I plan place seat with car ball joint? Ball joint Best spot to ball joint it is center to ideal weight point?

Clutch is big problem. Do i have to buy G25, or may i stepless clutch some other way? New pedals assembly is necessary because i dont like plastic pedals feel. If pedals is iron, like a original car they do not broken. I plan put strings all pedals. gas pedal quite loosa spring. Clutch pedal little stiff than gas pedal. Brake is hard, i think pneumatic sylinder and little pressure tank, closed system. Brake go down little, until air not pressure smaller room. What you guys think that? gas cylinder is one way (hood gas cylinders) but brake go up slowly and that is not good.

H-shifter is planned, g25 is one possible option that. But that is not very hard to do own hands. Very important is hardiness, gear must be able to beat right corner big force. If anyone is good links for this, i am very thankfull.

Are anyone dimensions to own cockpit (inc. wipermotor/scn5). I weld body possible that weekend and good dimensions help very much.

All tips/help/ideas/issues is welcome. I hope you experts want help me with this project. Thanks for all respondents to advance.

EDIT: Can i control relay, always i brake in game and abs light blink?

    Hello :hi:

Welcome to the forum and nice to see you already have started a project tread. :)
I have already answered some of the questions, but here are a link about how to build a handbrake. Maybe you could do the same with the clutch?
    http://www.x-simulator.de/forum/tronic-s-diy-usb-real-handbrake-t1341.html

I know how hard it is to build the frame so here are some measures of my simulator:

    Frame width:430mm
Frame length when it is as long as possible(adjustable): 1750mm
Seat hight(the lowest part where you sit): 150mm
    Wheel hight: 600mm
Wheel - pedals measured on the ground: ~600mm

Last question I dont really understand. You want a light to show when you brake?

    Good luck!

    Regards Tommy

Hi and feel welcome. From now on you are a official part of the x-sim community :)

Just my 2 cents about it:

I understand that he wants to have a blinking led, when the brake is pushed very hard and the wheels begin to block, befor the car looses too much grip and gets uncontrollable. I like the idea really much, as there is no visible indicator for blocking wheels yet.

I thought about a similar function in the past: Would be very cool to feel a vibration in the brake pedal BEFORE the wheels jam. (a force feedback brake) When the pedal vibrate you feel it and you can release the brake a little bit to prevent that jamming :)

As nima told me one day (i tried it successufully) it is good to increase the sound effect audio for the wheels. So you can hear it better when the tires beginn to blockade. Maybe that´s an
alternative until a visual or haptic function is build.

Thanks Tommy to measurements and tips in private message. Thats help lot of. Handbrake is look good, but i think G25 again. That is clucth and microswitshes every to everery gear. That helps compatibility to other games one usb device -> no problem :).

    Hello Raceray and thanks :)

You understand right i want to vibration brake pedal. If ABS led blinking in game, vibrarition start to brake pedal same, that first ABS cars brake pedal do. And that is very good sign, to lose brake if dont want blocking wheels, thanks to tip :)

What are they opinion. I sell my Logitech Driving Force pro and buy G25 and open that and do new pedals and h shifter? I maybe start project to saturday or sunday, to welding frame assembly.

EDIT: Have any instructions/info page what is best spot to uniball under the seat? I not sure what is best solution, half users seats look like front or rear weight and half uniball look like about center to weight spot? Hopefully somebody understand what i try to explain :p

I made vibration break for LFS but only because i need know when its full press (i dont have hard stop it feel better) its control by Kada's program for 7seg and RPM meter. Hard thing is how to get corrcet data from sim for real FF break you must have pressure data from game and i doubts that any sim have this fature ... LFS should have ABS in some cars (they have led light on if ABS is active ) so maybe this could be use.

I think that pressure information is very bad level, now days games.

Find here somekind picture/photo what are best position seat/gear shift/wheel and pedals? Or is it all tried to position for itself?

Many thanks Mambo, that help me a lot.

Little update to project. I bought Logitech G25. Now i start simulator project directly original G25 -set, not adjust that anyway. I make new gearbox and thats it in now. Future show will have must adjust/remake pedals etc. Brake is quite good in G25, not lose original car brake pedal, but if drive with socks or bad shoes that is better that way, but testing testing :) Wheel is very good, not near 1000dollars wheels etc, but this price level, very good wheel set.

I buy PCB's to AVR and H-bridge (designed tronicgr) one of user here. I think are anyone test tronicgr H-bridge with 24volt wiper motors? Works that directly or need i change something parts? I think truck (24volt wipermotor) is better that project, because 24volt motor torgue and power is very much better than 12voltage normal car wiper motors. Anyone testing? That AVR & H-bridge (designed tronicgr) found and tested very good solution?

That's weekend i weld pipebody and i try to get seat and pedals in place, sunday or monday i post photos here. Any tip/hints what do and what not to do? :p

Now we weld body and finish couple spot's to simulator. Here is some photos. Next that i order some parts to body, than we go continue project and i order electronic parts to H-bridge card and AVR card.

    - Body
    - Seat frame
    - Ball joint to seat frame

Are you planning on making a new shifter for G25? If so then I can tell you that there are just 2 potentiometers reading the shift sticks position.
