Hi, its possible to use these sliding door actuator for motion simulator?

All i want to do its to make 4dof motion simulator, so at least i can use it for traction loss only? I have 2dof motion simulator using worm gear motor (Smc3) , so if i use this one as third motor for traction loss will it work ? With same type of controller?

If not i hope i find someone hear make diy actuator with part bought from aliexpress because its the only option for me to order.

I foubd some people here make diy actuator but when i search for some part in aliexpress its not available.

Those type of actuators, like opening a door, are not designed for fast motion.

Additionally, any actuator requires a controller, that then interfaces with the motion software, be it SimTools, FlyPT or the like.

I would recommend doing some research before getting in too deep, as it is time well spent.

First use the Search function on the Recent page to find similar projects as to what you have in mind.

Please bounce your plans and shopping list off members before jumping too far down what can be an expensive rabbit hole, if you get it wrong.

You will also find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

    You looked at the link?

With an minimum of 200mm/sec(what i would recommend), your torque will be 10times lower(12kg). This will not work....

Yeh bro i took a look, but my question is about *if* i found sliding door motor with the recommend speed will it work like for smc3 , but @noorbeast is here and answer me clearly , i make this dude tired of my question but he never reject answring , Thanks for your help both of you guys ❤️

I have never seen those actuators on a sim rig but I know somebody who tried to build a walking robot with them. Those door or seat actuators are not build to work continously under load. He had burnt motor windings within ~half an hour. The motors are much to small to do any serous work, at least for more than several seconds.

You need actuators with ball screws and motors able to deliver at least 250W.

Oh so i need to cancle my idea, thanks.

Also now i'm thinking in make traction loss axis to my 2dof rig, but i only have 2 worm gear motor +300w 12v, so my think is how i will bring new motor, the shipping cost for each motor about 170$, so i need to check if i can use car wiper motor for its but i'm afrid of it because the wiper motor has a strong plastic thred inside not metal like my motor, because before i use wiper motor and its not take long time to brake the thred so for traction loss maybe need not to much force as for the 2dof, but when the motor like moving to left side traction loss and suddenly go to right side ( drifting car) maybe this little postion of stopping from going left nd reverse axis to left will need force and maybe brake the thred.

    Any idea guys?

Wiper motors can be used, please see the FAQs here for an example, though there are many others if you do a search: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...-with-wiper-motors-arduino-ibt2-and-smc3.391/

But wiper motors do need ground isolation, please see the FAQs here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/wiper-motor-mandatory-ground-isolation.25/

Additionally, wiper motors are not that powerful, there are other more powerful possibilities, such as wheelchair motors, and for either, tools like SimCalc can help you get your head around the tradeoffs in design Vs physics: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...e-linear-speed-and-forces-of-your-design.270/

Thanks bro, so to clearfiy the wheelchair motor has metal thred inside?, i make my research and found maybe hoverboard motor maybe powerfull and do the job but i dont know if i can use it bacuse as i know its 24v and my rig is 12v.

I have 100a driver so i need second one to use third motor because its only for 2 motor , so maybe ther is power converted i can use from the 100a 12 driver and conncet the driver to the power converter then to the 24v motor?

Hoverboard motors are possible but even so the end torque capability needs to be taken into consideration, and the control board of them may be considered somewhat finicky in comparison to other options.

Wheelchair motors are considered robust, please do a search and review existing projects using them, as there are many variants. The upside is that wheelchair motors are often available secondhand in many geographical areas at a reasonable price, my son picked up an electric wheelchair locally for free in Australia.

Found these motor but its 24v and 250w and rpm 120 max

Its dont show speed like mm/s

    Its wheelchair motor
