I don't know if anyone has talked much about the brand Firgelli much on any of these forums, but I have a team interested in using some and wanted to know people's experiences, products, set ups, etc. We would like to have a better idea on these before we get into budgeting a simulator. Thanks!

The Firgelli No-Load Speed of 8-32mm/s is way too slow for good motion simulation, which needs more like 200-700mm/s.

If you want actuators, go SCN5 or SCN6 for relative simplicity and set up as well as looks.
However, for overall performance, 12v 200w 25:1 gearbox or 50:1 gearbox (depending on application on the frame) and as you mentioned in another post, the JRK .
A mate of mine did a nice cover for the back of his seat mover recently

so you could cover it up.
And again, from experience of having 2 sims under heavy use, the combination of JRKS and 200 watt motors has proved (to me at least) to be reliable.
Cheaper to set up, they support more weight that SCN5 , quiet and cheap to fix. Mind you , there is some fabrication in building it up.
    Cheers, David.

So you know what the stroke is of the SCN5/6?

Thanks for the quick response BTW.. Also Do you know where you can get JRK's for cheaper than $100?

SCN5's come in a variety of length's, More travel = More $$. 100/150mm are the most common for the most part. SCN6's are just Stronger and slower for more heavy duty jobs.

There was some talk of deals on JRK's the other day, but i cant remember if it was US based or Aussie based.

@mgill4bu , good luck finding JRKS under $99 US. The cheapest would be Pololu itself . And remember, you will need the 12v12 version, NOT the 21v3.
As for $AU @Nick Moxley , we are copping a 30% extra due to currency drop and 10% GST tax total on the purchase, so anywhere for them in Australia under $130 is an advantage.

another vote for SCN5s - these things are super responsive and the range of motion is excellent!
