Ian is now officially member of the Portdrvr beta team. He gave us great help to implement heave and acceleration in portdrvr and now that he has ready his cockpit he makes tests too...

I like the way Ian uses picaxe to pull data from the serial port. I'd love to be able to look at his code for that. Had a trawl through the picaxe forum but haven't yet come across any posts from him. Do you think he would supply the .bas code when he sells his kitset plans or would he flash the chips and include them as part of the plans?

I have no idea for what he is going to do with the picaxe controllers firmware. He might have it later in his site as HEX file or something but I really dunno yet. He have not revealed such details about his project cause we don't need them. Each of us is using a totaly different way to move the motion cockpit and even different software interface. The only common for the moment is the use of Keith's Portdrvr FS interface for retrieving data from MS flight simulator.

I will present an interface for flight sims to use along with portdrvr soon on:

I had a look at that post at inventgeek.com a while back and the trail ended up with me contacting immersion regarding their wheel electronics as they hold patents for force feedback technology .
    http://immersion.com/gaming/arcade_sim/ ... /wheel.php
It cost US$700 for one board and the price goes down if you buy more. I got the impression the rep was a wee bit protective of their products tho. It seems immersion don't specialise in 3DOF haptics, more X,Y axis.
