Hi all, maybe this is not for all; however I thought the info maybe useful.

Ive been scouring AC and DC motors to use I my impending mistakes for this hexapod thingy, motor after motor for the last 4 nights burning the midnight oil as it were, and then I came across this

    https://hnlunyi.en.alibaba.com/prod...m=a2700.icbuShop.prewdfa4cf.67.121d78a1gIjDhW

So something maybe useful to some of you here.

As for me I've had 42 quotes for motor systems and frankly I'm still none the wiser; what does that tell you:blush

Hi i see they use leadscrews with3000 and 2400 rpm, this means normaly a low duty cycle.
A ballscrew is rolling a leadscrew is slidding this create heat and lowers duty cycle, how higher te rpm are the more rest he need to coul douwn

so the price is in - basically everything is included to build a 6dof platform with top and bottom plates and hinges

the actuators are supplied with servo drivers

DX6-1000-DH65-S500-P2 6DOF,65mm,Foldback Type, 500mm Stroke,With Plate up and bottom Include joint hinges,Accoridng to Drawing

    Servo Driver:SV-DA200-0R7-2-E 750W,220V,Pulse Type Servo Motor:SV-ML08-0R7G-2-1A0 750W,2500-line incremental,Without Brake 3m Power Cable:DAML-075-03-AB 3m Encoder Cable:DBEL-15-03-A

the actuators are 450 kg each and 250mm/s iirc

    total cost USD 8,666.00

    approx 6500 GBP

    or 7400 Euro

basically a complete 6dof with actuators and servo drivers

what do people think - is this a good price compared to what it costs to build something similar ?

This is something they already manufacture and is a pretty good deal when you think about it.

    Are you going ahead ?

I enjoy the building process and could do this for less, but many do not have the spare time and skill/equipment needed to build these DIY. - So is it a good price - for many I would think yes.

He is a member of this site ;), was posting here quite often, but may have run into some issues, as he has not posted here for quite some time. Search through the old Commercial threads. Look for 'Universal 6DOF Recessed Simulator'. Edit it's on page two.

I remember that for a while he did have pricing for each system on his website. From experience, I know its not easy to bringing a product to market, especially something as complex as this. Just so much that can go wrong.

I have been keeping a Google spread sheet to calculate how much it costs for some of the 6dof project threads on this forum. It made me believe that the bill of material for a typical 6dof sim is not less than 8k US. For a commercial rig to cost just $5500 is easy too good. Would you please provide a link to the product?

As I said before this is the factory price. You will still need to export it and ship it, not sure how much is that would be, with the US Tarrifs now in place it could cost 30% up (Servomotors fall into same category as air pumps and generators lol)
