Is it possible to control the Main Level % slider on the profile editor using a usb control knob such as ones from Griffin, or with a potentiometer and Arduino? I would like to be able to control this slider in game without having the Profile Editor displayed on the screen. :think

    Any ideas are appreciated.

    Hi Paul!

I made some researches about this subject as well ;-)

    - one way could be controlling Simtools app by using a macro creator (macrocreator.com/ autoitscript.com or Glovepie) and an hacked joystick

    - or simplier, if you use an Arduino: set Simtools to the maximum and then plug a pot on the Arduino to adjust the level manually.
FYI the code I use do this easily... the variable exists already and it's only a matter of reading a pot on an analog pin.
I can add the 2 needed lines if you're interested.

    Mat
    PS: thanks for the link!

    Hi Mat,

I plan to control the sim motors with Pololu JRK12v12's so the macro option may be best for me. Will macros still work if the Profile setup window does not have focus and is in the background?

Uh, I don't know but probably not...
Maybe it would be necessary that Simtools could add a keyboard shortcut on this functionnality? You should ask @yobuddy

A hot key function would be super cool, I agree.

Sorry for bumping this up, but the request from OP is probably one of the features that Simtools need.

Binding "Main Level %" to a keyboard or joystick device button/rotary encoder would be great.
I think there are a lot of us here with custom dashboards and button boxes, it will be much easier to adjust that level on-the-fly, rather than alt-tabbing or exiting the game.
