motor questions

    Hi!

    I am very new at DIY simulator forums and have been searching the best option for myself.

    I feel myself closer to flat platform sims.

    Have been checking examples on DIY pages and all i see are platforms built with linear actuator / home made motors...



    Is such a system shown in the link costs very expensive with same motors?

    That looks extremely silent and smooth..

    Can anyone explain me the reason of not choosing such motors?

    actuators like those are not silent and they are very expensive.

    Are you sure with the price?

    I cant share links due to new membership rules, but as i see at alibaba, prices vary from 20 usd to 100 usd per motor.

    Yes, I have already check that thread. Really good job. But I still can't get the idea of rebuilding a linear servo.

    Compared the cost of such a rebuild, buying one from Alibaba isnt that much expensive. Or am I wrong?

    Maybe I am checking wrong type of actuators at alibaba/aliexpress.

    Can anyone please explain me the reason of rebuilding?

    Because I find very fast and strong actuators around 100 usd per servo.

    Does that really worth rebuilding rather than buying?

    I'm guessing in saying that any actuators priced between 20&100 USD will most likely only be any good if your sim involves riding on the back of a turtle,,,

    My actuators will be here from Japan tomorrow and they were far from cheap. I got 5 of them from frex and the cost £2500 UK including shipping and then I had an email today to inform me of the other £500 I have to pay for tax and import duty

    There were no local options mate and these were built for the task. They are hyperaxis 100 from frex. They are a motion sim company
