I came here because last thing I purchased was the GS-4 and I have not been able to use it all together with the DIY RTL. Simxperience, told me my config RTL+GS-4 is the only one they know about and simcommander can't configure it... I have been waiting for month for an update of SC which will probably never come...

Avenga suggested I try SimTool months ago and I finally did it weekend and I finally manage to make the RTL and GS-4 to work all together :cheers

I quite liked the way SC was controling the RTL: Lateral Speed + Lateral Acceleration @8%
So my plan was to get ButtKickers + RTL controlled via SC and the GS-4 through Sim Tools.

That was quite intimidating but after several try and error I finally succeed.
I followed this thread to control the GS-4: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/simtools-and-simxperience-gs-4.7050/#post-82352

Without it I would still be nowhere, so Big UP to the contributors of that thread ! :thumbs

    Questions

I still do not understand a few thing like "a" or "b" for axis assignment ??
Is "b" there to have 1 more layer of DOF ?

I would like to have different panel stroke (depending on direction) for the GS-4.
I would like it to close more than it opens.

    I mean something like that:

    Is it possible?

    Thanks

    Angus

The "a" or "b" for axis assignment is to allow settings for say a 6DOF rig (a) with a G-Seat mounted on it (b).

You can have different Min and Max values in the Tuning center, which results in a longer but slower travel the greater the value and shorter faster travel the smaller the value. Different Min/Max values are commonly used to simulate a gear shift snap on the surge axis: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/snappy-gear-change-motion.121/

    Hi Noorbeast,

So should I put my settings in a or b?

I think what you say regarding min/max in tuning center would work if I wanted it for surge, but I want to use it for sway...

My illustration did not suggest that sorry.

In a sway motion I would like the closing side to have more stroke than the opening side and vice versa...like below

I don't know how all your gear is hooked up but would think you could use a for your 3DOF settings and b for your G-Seat.

Sorry if I confused you, the Min/Max values can be independently set for any axis/force, I just used surge as an example of where it is commonly done for a particular effect.
