    The base of mine is 500x500mm, it is 600mm wide at both the seat sides and top rod mounting points, excluding the HOTAS. It is 800mm wide with the HOTAS and is 1500mm long if you discount the rear seat mounted speakers.

    My sim in version 1 was a convertible full frame design and in version 2 is a 3DOF seat shaker design. I would suggest you go with the seat shaker design as it is such a tight space, it is easier to build, does not need as low a gearbox ratio and hence the movement can be quicker.

    You could have your existing frame as the base, mount a universal joint to it, add side motor mounting plates off the existing frame and create a low profile PSU and control board enclosure in the frame space under your knees.
