The Yaw folks have a Kickstarter up for Yaw2. Way over their goal. Ends on June 7.

I've backed it. I have a Yaw1 also. Best company I have ever dealt with. They are trying to have a heave base ready before backer surveys go out that you can upgrade to before shipping. It might be a yaw base with heave integrated into it. So you can buy the yaw axis without heave but not buy the heave axis without yaw. Should see the heave prototype soon (any day). Might have an x/y platform in the future (next year) also if possible.

That sounds very cool especially with that endorsement. Might be a good way to pick up some dofs.

Nice video but it’s mostly just that guy whirling around and saying “mein gott” and “scheisse”.

I saw where there seems to be a way to limit the yaw angle in setup in the stuff on Kickstarter. I like the continuous rotation but don’t have enough room for that.

And I wish there was more technical information and photos of the mechanisms. There’s a regular and Pro model where the Pro has beefier motors, but I’d like to see how sturdy the mechanicals are and know specifics.

    Looks amazing, though.

That's a really good review. I backed the pro version with 2 dof. I plan to get the heave platform when they release it.

Judging by the video, they hardly use the yaw platform on X-Plane 11, so pitch, roll and heave should be pretty perfect. Don't have room for much yaw anyway.

I am coming from a dofreality platform, but I want something with more power and precision. I love how you can see the Yaw2 move with the rumble of the rollercoaster tracks. It seems to be much closer to the fidelity of a linear platform than dofreality.

In my Opinion, the Yaw2 is really nice, in compare what you get, for the Price. cheaper is only DIY

@KydDynoMyte - very nice video! That has a shot of the gear rack at 3:00 so these are gear driven at least on pitch but the reviewer says all axes.

Also like the counterweight provision. The nature of this one means can’t change the pivot point so have to add weight to balance. It’s looking really good!

@MeefAnol - are you saying you have one of these Yaw2 units? If so, are you part of the company? As far as I know there aren’t many prototypes.

A rough early prototype of their planned heave upgrade.

A nice video for people only interested in racing. At the end he seems to think he'd disable the yaw axis if using an off rig display but would definitely use the yaw axis when in VR.

That's not true, you can buy 2dof systems for less than 900 dollars. Also 900 dollars doesn't cover the shipping cost, which I doubt they won't charge you for. So kickstarter base 900 dollars plus 250 - 300 dollars shipping.
