I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the correct place, but I believe I am.

Here is the deal, I may have acquired a NextLevel Racing V3 at a really really good price, however......

There is a catch, there always is... lol The platform worked fine when he originally bought it, he didn't really care for it so he stopped using it. Fast forward a couple of years, he decides to sell it, well the new buyer can't get it to work. He refunds the person and didn't really look into for a bit. He pulled it out plugged it in and everything worked. The issue is with the newer versions of the software, it just won't work. When he called tech support he was told that his V3 was blacklisted and will not work, and could not be repaired. They didn't tell him why, so who knows.... so now its pretty much a paper weight.

I can pick it up pretty cheap, I was wondering if there is any way to make it work using Simtools? We know it will work with older versions of the software, so mechanically its perfect. I haven't had the unit apart, so I have no idea what kind of motors it uses.

The other option would be to use the platform and replace the motors and controller, but I'm not sure if its worth it. I actually have an extra Thanos controller for my SFX-100.. I don't know if that would work?

What do you guys think? Worse case would require replacing the motors and controller.

I don't know what hardware the NL3 runs, but to run it as is you first have to be able to communicate with it, and being a proprietary system that is likely problematic.

If you can find out what the hardware is perhaps there is a way to ditch its controller and use something else, but I guess you would want to be pretty sure that is possible before committing to it and I can't recall anyone having done that before.

Maybe open it up and post some pictures of the hardware.
I bet we can figure out what to do from there.
