    Hi all

After at least 20 hours testing I give up - nvidia 3d vision 2 is good but not good enough to play triple surround. Although my Qumi Q7 3D projectors are not compatible with 3D Vision (only 3DTV play), I could change (or better hack) the EDID of the Qumis using 3D Vision compatible projectors to play at least a resolution of 3072x768 pixels in 3D without any restrictions.

Normally AC runs in 3072x768 ~100 fps (i7 3.8 GHZ, GTX 670 SLI) however nvidia 3D Vision set the anti aliasing to 2x ( instead of 8x ingame). The performance is significantly worse than 3840x720 w/o 3D, it was impossible to start a offline race with 10 opponents, I had to reduce some graphic settings. The image quality is also poor in the overall impression and comparison with 3840x720. There are some irritations and light artifacts in the screen, which unnaturally protruding out of the screen.

The 3D effect in Assetto Corsa is like a binocular - you see 3D, but somehow everything is spatially odd. Finally the image quality is quite blurred.

Conclusion for triple surround + 3D + AC: It was a waste of time and effort!

PS: tested a BenQ W700 which is fully certified, but not better or worse.

I feel your frustration @Pit and at least you have saved someone else the time of figuring that out for themselves.

DK2 Rift support is about to drop for AC and given the great job they did for the DK1 it should be a good alternate 3D experience. There are a few here who are eager to try it when it does so will report back.
