Yes, this would be helpful. Actually, the entire issue of profile exchange needs to be addressed. I would suggest the following improvements. These would save me time in development of the Commander because I will have to build them if you don't.

1.) Exchange dialog box should not appear simply because of case sensitivity (Ex- Left Actuator vs. left actuator)
2.) Exchanges should be remembered. If someone else builds a profile and named their actuator Left SCN5 and mine is named Left Actuator and I make the mapping in the profiler exchange dialog, it should be saved. Then when I open another profile from this user, an exchange dialog will not be displayed.
3.) SCN5 users can save a Synaptrix (actuator speed/accel), but cannot reload it. Profiler crashes when trying to load a saved Synaptrix in 2.1.0.3. This is consistent. I can provide an example if necessary.
4.) Would be nice to be able to save gauges seperately and have them be able to be used regardless of motion profile, or automatically merged as you suggest above.

IMHO, this is the order of importance.

Bernard says SCN5 users can save a Synaptrix (actuator speed/accel), but cannot reload it. Profiler crashes when trying to load a saved Synaptrix in 2.1.0.3. This is consistent. I can provide an example if necessary.

Same as Bernard I have tried every way possable to save and reload profiles containing Synaptrix (actuator speed/accel) as I now have three FSX profiles and I was trying to avoid having to enter the speed/accel to each of them every time I loaded them. Perhaps confirmaton of the proper way to save a Synaptrix (actuator speed/accel) with SCN5's, if it is possable, would help ?

I apologize. I did not see your earlier post requesting the rn2 file. I will attach some samples to this post when I return home from work.

The consistent error is not with an rn2 file, but with the syn file.

Here are the steps to reproduce the syn file error:

1.) Create synaptrix as shown in attached image (this profile runs well and synaptrix works properly)
    2.) Save Synaptrix as test.syn
3.) Attempt to load synaptrix file test.syn
4.)Exchange dialog shown below will appear
5.) Dismiss the Exchange dialog because there is no correct mapping
    6.) Profiler.exe will crash

In addition to this consistent error, I also get an intermittent rn2 error. When loading some rn2 files that I am positive have a saved synaptrix for actuator speed and accel, sometimes the synaptrix does not display in the profiler. I will investigate this further and try to provide a sample in the next few days.

Sirnoname to aswer your question I am afraid that the problem with mine was not the Syn file for the simple reason that I never saved a Syn file only m2 files.

Now what I did since I read your mail is I took my m2 file and also took Bernards m2 file which he has included the speed and acceleration in and compared the two. I went down to the synaptris section and saw that he has in his two entries showing speed and acceleration values, when I examined mine I found that there were no such entries . This braught it home to me that I had not included the speed and acceleration values in the synaptrix correctly or they would have shown here the same as Bernards.

Now the sad news I went to try and save a profile with the speed and acceleration every possable way that I could make out with info available and in the process I crashed the program. I tried and tried to get it up and running again without success. I then decided to remove all traces of X-Sim and to reload same . Now I found that the version that I had in origionally was V2.1.0.2. so I decided to up this to V 2.1.0.3. I saved my profiles.

Now the trouble, I am back to square one in getting X-Sim up and running again and I wil have to go back over my thread to follow the help which I recieved origionally. The reason that I am explaining all this is that I did not want you to feel that I was ignoring your question which I will give a full reply to as soon as I am up and running.

I would be most grateful if in the meantime if you would give directions on the proper way to save the speed and acceleration in the synaptrix with the profile as I know now that I did not do it correctly.

    Many thanks

    Toni

Just a follow up to my last post .Please find attached a comparison between Bernard's synaptrix and mine. As far as I can make out it would be very hard for me to have the speed and acceleration included in the profile when I loaded it as it was never there !!

Sirnoname I should have stated that Bernard's was the one illustrated on the left and mine on the right however please find below the two m2 files and you can see them both in full.

I asked in previous post if you would provide direction on the proper way to have speed and accelleration included in the profile through the synaptrix option as you seem to have accomplished this. Most grateful if you would as this would be onemore thing learned.

Sirnoname I think we are on different tracks as regards what I am trying to include in my profile. Regarding my m2 I never said that it crashed when I loaded it what I said was that I could not get it to contain the Initial Speed and Initial acceleration which I thaught I had included in it when I saved it.

At a later stage in the post Bernard told you that he used a “SYN” file and this removed me from the problem that he was having as I explained to you that I had never used such a file in creating a profile.

I then found in Bernards m2 entries in the Synaptrix section relating to speed and acceleration which were not in mine. I asked you to explain to me how to include these entries in a profile as I obviously had not done it correctly.

My problem is that I do not know the correct way to include the speed and acceleration in a saved profile which will contain same when you load it and as a result every time I load a different profile which requires different speeds and accelerations I have to load them in through the Interface Settings option.

Hope this clarifies the directions I am looking for.

    Many thanks

    Toni
