So this is kind of a weird question I suppose, but as the title suggests does anyone sell simulator kits in a more piecemeal kind of way? I keep looking at various different simulators and have dabbled in building my own from scratch. I like various features of different off the shelf style systems, but no one package is all that compelling to me and the neither are the price tags. I like to tinker and adjust things to suit myself, so I also like the idea of home built, but what I've found with my current system is a bit of a lack of precision in the design and execution. Long story short, I like having my own control system and basic "spine" as I call it (central beam with the seat, wheel/yoke, pedals, shifter, etc.), but I like the idea of a more commercial frame that I could mount it all to.

What would be really interesting to me would be if you were able to buy something like a generic hexapod without any associated electronics. I can get those parts myself (or reuse what I already have) and not have to pay the middleman markup or mod costs as that's stuff I can do myself, plus it lets me run my own motor controllers and SimTools to tweak stuff how I want it. Does anything like that even exist?

Try Mantis simulators - you can find them on this forum. They may well help you out!
