It seems that most of the Rock and Rides I have seen have a slanted (upward) Roll axis.

Does this add or take away anything from the simulator?

It seems to me that a horizontal Roll axis would be a better way to go?

    Hi yobuddy

nice to see you again in the forum. Do you have the valves already?

Its a challange for me to answer your question in english. But let me try it ;)

Its not recommended to do that. Remind the pivot point. Your body weight has to be centered over the pivot point. If you change the setup the way you sketched it, the total dimension will increase. Because you would have to make it higher to compensate the offset of the seat position. Remind as well that you need some space for your feet, when the simulator moves down.
I hope this was understandable, more or less...;)

    regards

    Thanks allot egoexpress!

    That was very helpful!
    is there a suggested angle I should use - 10°, 15°, 20° - ?

I have actually found much better valves (about 50$ USD).
They are half the price of the others.

    STC Valve 4V230C-1/4
    1/4 (inlet/outlet) 1/8 (Exhaust)
    24VDC
    Cv = 0.89
    53 SCFM @100 PSI
Response Time (on / off) < 20 ms

I’m going to use 1/4 OD air tube that has a 1/8“ ID and is the closest air tube I have found that resembles 6mm air hose.

I talked with a supplier last week for 4 valves and some tubing and connectors. I should get a quote from him next week.

I think I could solve the height and foot clearance problem, and still have a horizontal Roll Axis.

I’m lucky enough to have a friend that owns a metal shop and is currently AutoCAD-ing up my Simulator, and I’m starting to get pretty excited.
It's nice to see I haven’t exhausted you with all the questions.

    Thanks ego!
