I thought it would be nice to get a collection of what we all fly and what you recommend for various reasons.

For me, I got the Aerosoft Airbus pack and it's great.
C172 from A2A with Accusim, is also a great addition.
Starting planes from cold and dark adds that extra bit of immersion for me which both these models other and then some...

I'm looking at getting the 737NGX but at US$89 equates to AU$115!! (Addon twice the cost of the game!!)

I'm also looking for a good Spitfire - Was looking at the Accusim Spitfire, but I've heard it has some issues on V2.5. Anyone on here using it?

    Thanks,

    Archie.

I got the IRIS Jabiru for my father, as that is what he uses as a student pilot: http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=2664

The reproduction of the various cockpit and markings is excellent, the only complaint I have with the Jabiru is some odd stuff in the flight dynamics. The rudders are way too sensitive at slow speeds and if you compensate for that in the control settings they are not sensitive enough for flight. Hence I have resorted to directly tweaking the flight model config file.

My father loves the flight dynamics of the free Tiger Moth, based on a real Aussie plane, for low and slow flying, where you want to take in the beautiful ORBX scenery: http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/3084/fsx-de-havilland-dh82a-tiger-moth/

I have not really messed with aircraft outside of that. When I do I will explore the free stuff first, so if anyone has recommendations regarding quality free addon aircraft then that would be great.

What I have noticed is how different aircraft feel and behave depending on the peripherals. Dad's Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is great for its price point but does not really compare to my Warthog in terms of fidelity and feel. So if we are compiling a list it may be good to have 'free' and 'paid' recommendations, along with what hardware you use them on.

I use the Saitek Cessna Pro Flight Yoke (with Throttle Quadrant) with all my aircraft. I have a Saitek Cyborg plugged into the Yoke that gives me rudder when I twist it. I only use for finals correction and twist correction on take off.

I had some home made rudder pedals but I took them off. Working on a new set that will use the Clutch and Accel from my G27 pedals.

I have a Warthog HOTAS and Saitek Pro Flight pedals.

My father has a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek yoke that he never uses, Saitek Three Lever Pro Throttle Quadrant and Pro Flight pedals.
