    Hey guys,
    I was wondering.
Are there any applications in which you can record simulator movements to any given videofile ?
The reason I'm asking this, is that a friend of me is a 3D designer and he works in a company that creates the videos that are being used in simulators in theme parks.
They really look amazing, but it would be great to create and record own movements to it to use it in an own simulator. :)

You can currently record motion using the joystick plugin for SimTools but at the moment there is no way to play it back But the SimTools developer @yobuddy is working on playback functionality for the next version of SimTool, which is likely not far off entering early testing.

The Video Ride Creator has a UDP input feature that allows feeding data to the current project from a outside app.
It basically records and throttles the inputted data, in order to sync to the video.

here is a pic I have laying around, it's a bit old, but you get the idea.

After you get a rough idea of the movements needed, you can then fine tune them by hand if desired.
In the end you have a telemetry file that plays along with the video.

To be honest, I have not played with the joystick plugin yet.
but I'm sure they could be made to work together, should they need to.

@beatbrother, I'm hoping someday that someone will make some ride videos for the DIY guy's and sell them somewhere.
I'd love to have some ride films to use with my sim!

btw, it is possible to reformat just about any cuing file for SimTools.
All the ride films that I have seen with cuing files I have been able to reformat and use!
So if you have some ride films or know where to buy some ride films, you should be able to make them work!

    Take care!
