    Profile Details
    Game: rFactor
    Intended Sim Hardware: 2 SCN5 Frex-Style design (On-Road)
    Actuators: 150mm
    25% Limiter: Yes
Math Plugins Used: 1:1 G-Force, Percent Scaler
Designed for Specific Vehicle: Yes - Open Wheel Challenge Mod Vehicles (OW Challenge)
Includes Program Settings: Yes. Optimized for Quad Processor. Do not load program settings if you do not have a quad-core
    Includes Gauges: No
Speed / Acceleration Values: Actuator Speed is now set dynamically. Accel: 540 (Turn this number up or down if you desire more or less road surface effects)

Note: It is important to set the acceleration value above in the SCN5 Plugin Settings before using this profile. The profile was designed around these settings and will not feel realistic without them.

Usage agreement: I have posted these profiles here to help others get started more quickly. However, I am a beginner myself and my profiles are not perfect. In exchange for my efforts in creating and posting this profile here, I ask that you post any improvements that you make to it or shortcoming that you discover with it here so that we can all benefit from each others experience.

Disclaimer: It's simple. If one of these profiles harms you or your equipment, I am sorry but am not liable in any way. Use this profile / setting combination at your own risk. Do NOT use these profiles if your 25% limiter is not enabled.

Beta Version With Dynamic Actuator Speed - Last Updated: 12/20/2008
I have been working on an rFactor Profile for some time now. I can't seem to get it to a point where I am happy with it, so I'm going to release it and hope that someone will improve on it and post it back or at least give me some ideas for improvement. One of the cool things about this profile is that it uses dynamic actuator speed values that are calculated on two new axis. I have not yet worked vertical g-forces into this profile and I will not until I get the first part properly tuned. The main problem with this profile, or any profile that I have made for rFactor, is that the effects do not scale properly to other vehicles. In Race 07 I mnake my profiles by driving the highest and lowest g-force producing vehicles and tuning from there. With this profile, I used the OW Challenge Series cars which produce some of ther highest g-forces in rFactor. Unfortunately, unlike Race 07, this strategy makes it so that I can feel VERY little movement in any lesser vehicle. :sos:

Re: SimXperience II - rFactor Profiles

Here's a Video of the profile in action with my first attempt at dynamic actuator speed. It needs alot of testing yet, but feels pretty good so far.

Hi bernard, just installed Rfactor and tried your profile. Have you ever checked the speed of your SCN5 when you are driving ? Would be interesting what the values are. Go into the scn5 plugin settings, leave it open and drive. you should see the change of the value

Never actually left the plugin open, but I have logged it to a csv file while running a few laps and went back to look at the values. It's a little bit of a pain to analyze bwecause the logged output numbers have to be scaled across a 32 bit integer of 4294967295 and then to the maximum possible SCN5 plugin speed value of 22500. It helps to analyze the log output in Excel because you can apply a formula. There's alot of room for improvement on those speed values. Also, you may want to consider an axis offset for the velocity axis' so that you can control the min/max values more easily, and allow it to scale in between those min/max speed values.

    2DOF, SCN5
    Hi! Bernard,

As you know, I have been testing with this profile.
I would like to know if you could help me understand/solve the following:

    1. Speed / Acceleration Values: Actuator Speed is now set dynamically. Accel: 540 (Turn this number up or down if you desire more or less road surface effects)
From what I've read so far, I understood that the plugin values were used just initial settings (i.e.: during actuator centering when we open the Profiler)... And, would not be used by the Profiler for in game control.
Am I missing some point? What is the relation of the speed and acceleration we set in the plugin with the actual actuator movement inside the games?

    2. I may have changed something in the Program Settings (or loaded yours), but I can notice some missing/freezing frames on rFactor (only). My FPS is always above 200FPS, I turned on V-Sync (85Hz here), and it improved a little... Then, I started to increase the artificial brakes looking for more improvement, but didn't get much, it was 4/6ms before and now it is at 8/15ms...
How do these brakes work? What should I do to improve/fix my problem?

    Thanks a lot guys.

    Cheers,

I think the profle may have to be reworked with the new method of adjusting the accelleration, like the Simbin profile (GTRE,etc...)

Yes, I have an improved rFactor profile, and have done away with the dynamic actuator speed in my shared profiles since there are too many variables to account for between PC's.

When I get home today I will look for it and post it. My simulator is currently dissassembled to be upgraded, so it will be a few more weeks before I can finalize and release the other profiles that I have been working on.

thanks bvillersjr!!!! :hi: I have adjusted better position of the actuators. Now it should be much better!

There is someone that can help me to create a profile for the WTCC class? Thanks!

It is not recommended to use car position/angle data to feed the simforcegt.

You rather should use the accelleration (g-force) values (like in this profile), as this gives much more sensation and immersion.

Just imagine to make a full stop braking in your real car. You will be pressed to the steering wheel. And when accellerating, your body gets pushed away from the wheel slightly, if your car has enough hp :D

Using angle data is just recommended for simulators with more movement range.

For general questions like this one rather open a new thread please.
