Hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time posting. I have recently completed a DIY rig build (2dof with traction loss) loosely based on D Max's design. So far, everything is working as planned with the exception of the motor drivers not being able to handle the load of the 1200 watt motors (go figure). I'm having an issue when first powering on the rig. When the rig is off everything sags to the bottom of the travel limit. This happens to be outside the available travel range of the software limits. I have to physically hold the rig up while simultaneously powering it on or it wont power up the motors and raise the rig to the neutral position. I am just wondering if there is a bit of code I can insert into the arduino or simtools to force it to level outt on its own when I turn it on. Thanks for any help you can provide.

It is called being back driven when the motors can't sustain a position unpowered.

Being out of range, by definition, also means there is no control.

The simplest solution others have used is pivoting chocks, which are swung under the levers before powering down and then swung out of the way once the rig is powered up.

10-4. I'll look into that. Thank you for your input. Probly need some kind of mechanical stop anyway. I have a bent push rod now due to the motor cutting out and dropping too far.
