Hello all, i would simply to know if the Rock & Ride Motion Simulator is still available in the market.

I am very interested to buy one of it.

(i don't know if i have to write this post in the market section or here)

Hi Sirnoname ,Uh, i find just one shop : http://shop.rightthing.nl (but seems the r'n'r is out of stock)

I don't understand exactly what you mean with set your eBay auto search to the name and wait for about 3 monthes.. but i don't find nothing about this item in eBay.
Can you provide me some link about serious shops selling it?

And, is R'n'R motion simulator supported by X-SIM today?

    Thankyou!

    Hello again Sirnoname.
My first objective about the R'nR motion platform is to have one of it to learn how it works!!!
The first thing i think about the R'n'R is that it use the pneumatic cylinder!
This like me because my dream is to build an aggressive 2DOF all-in-one platform (really hard with electric actuators) platform and what is the best method to learn? HAVE ONE OF IT HERE!!
So, you write you could borrow one of yours and dude, yes! i would that very much!
Please contact me in private or here to teach me how you want to move about that!
I live in Italy. Please tell me all you need to borrow me one of yours. I rest in wait of your directives!

Ok, i read the thread Pneumatics/hydraulics in comparance to other systems and it's really interesting.
Sure is that with a pneumatic system i can lift more weight with a decent speed too. This make the pneumatic solution really cool.
I notice that the Proportional Valves is the only solution if i need a fast response and different movement speeds of the pneumatic cylinder rod.

I am looking for R'n'R motion system because this is a ready to use pneumatic system. Sure the digital valves are the big limitation but sure that to have one R'n'R it's a positive thing because it's ready to use and ready to work with X-Sim.

Have one R'n'R = have a machine ready to use and ready to be studied in firt person and not just theory about pneumatic system (yes i know the theory is really important but if you add a machine ready to use i think that is the best solution to make some experiments)

I find this proportional valve, can you tell me if it's a good theoretica choose for a pneumatic system?:

How much mass are you trying to move?

Hi, the weight of my platform (2DOF or 3DOF) projects will be so and so 100 / 120kg (human 80kg included).

I have 2 version about my project, one 2DOF and another 3DOF. You can see my cylinders (or actuators) position in the posted pics for both 2DOF and 3DOF.

I think pneumatic solution it's a good choose because my first goal is aggressive platform (many tilt angle, many speed)

I think everyone is trying to tell you that you won't be happy with a pneumatic solution.

IMHO, you have three viable actuation options for your 3DOF:

    -Expensive electric actuators (Bosch, etc..)
    -DC Motors
    -AC Motors

There are many threads in this forum that will help you to accomplish the DC or AC gear motor options.

There is no off the shelf actuation solution for a simulator like your 3DOF design. It simply requires too much actuator power.

In short, you can either re-design your sim to get the same movements but require less actuator power (which is very possible) , or look into AC or DC motor controllers in these forums.

Thank you bvillersjr, I think the best solution is the DC/AC choice.
Yes i can re-design my platform to get the same movement with less actuator power, I saw something about that but probably it's just time to learn to use the DC/AC motors.
