Hi. I am looking to start my next build. I am after some advice on making or buying motor arm levers.
On my last build i made my own, which do work well but I feel they could be better.

I cut and drilled lengths of steel Bar which i then folded to form a 'u' shape. I cut out a keyway to lock them into position and bolted them onto my wheelchair motors.
I will include a photo that will probably explain far better.:)

My new project planned is to use invacare wheelchair motors. The shaft of the motor and keyway all look identical to the previous motors I used. I know some lose the keyway and have a grub screw to lock the rotor arm into position.

So, my question is this, can I purchase premade rotor arms? Or am I going to have to continue my struggle with the lack of engineering equipment I currently own?

If anyone can help with construction ideas around rotor arms, I would be very grateful.
I have seen some wonderfully constructed arms or levers on the site Screenshot_20240119_114841_Gallery.jpg , so please let me know if you can help.

    Many thanks

I learned some basic freecad (not noob friendly and quite a learning curve for me at least) but was able to design my own and have sendcutsend make them for me out of 9.5mm aluminum. The prices are very reasonable, both of my were $31 shipped. I used them to make my seat mount bracket too while I was at it.

I can send you my part files if you want to go that route.

I notice in your picture, you have a mount for your ibt2's. Can I ask where you got those from?
They look really smart and an effective way of securing them.

This guy posted them, look at the zip under "Planos". They work good, but I'd like another 5mm underneath to give the wires a little room. As it is, they're almost bent 90°. Works well enough though.

That's nice, I might do that instead of leaving everything out in the open.
