    Hello world.

I want to ask the people that have seat movers what the height of the base of their seat is. I understand that there may be differences from one to the other, but I want to get a general idea of how high it should be. I am also re-evaluating my initial design to make something like the CONVERTTABLE

Basically, something I can put away when not in use and easy to transport when I have to move again. Your ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

This is an interesting one and would require some unique design. I have tried this myself over several designs.
To keep it compact and short, you would need to mount motors under the base of the seat . If you can allow some extra length at the back, you could have the motors connect at the shoulders. As you are looking at a seat mover, then you would need to be able to pack the rest of it ( the bits that do not move away).
With motors under the base, you need to consider the height of the motors and how far the base will move, so minimum 200mm between bottom and seat base may be needed. If the motors connect at the shoulders at the rear, you could lower this depending on pivot point used.
I have attached a basic concept design for a seat mover , it does not have a seat on the picture. The seat would sit on the top base and the back of the seat lean back as they do. Top of base is about 650mm long. A seat is usually about 450-480mm on its base, so putting the middle of the seat over the pivot point allows for lean of backrest.
Otherwise, get the pencil and paper out and start sketching, or use google sketchup to figure out something.
    Cheers, David.

Thank you bsft. As always you are a wealth of information. For some reason I keep overcomplicating my design. At some point I need to actually get started. Maybe I can be like you when I grow up (just kidding of course. It is too late form me).
    :p
    Cheers.
